Previous Entry OMFG Next Entry

Wow! That was unexpected.

I'm pretty sure we'd have heard if there was going to be a new Doctor - unless it's a very closely guarded secret!

I didn't watch any of the spoilers for next week, so I don't know if David Tennant is in it (please don't tell me).

I thought the first half was utterly excellent. With such a big cast it would be easy to fall into self-congratulatory back slapping and gratuitous sillyness, but I though all the characters were brought together brilliantly.

How am I going to survive the next week?

The "MY VISION IS NOT IMPAIRED" bit was hilarious.

Yes, that was great. I wonder do they have a defence against the Doctor's hat as well?

Remember when Dona was sitting on the stairs, and someone came up to her and said "whats on your back?"

So is it all a dream?

I was wondering about that. There've been a few hints about Donna, going back as far as the Pompei episode. I think the writing on the wall is clear that she's going to die at the end, and save everyone by doing so. Remember Adric anyone?

But the Doctor? Either he's not really going to regenerate, or it's a very carefully guarded secret. I don't think they would do the thing of having him regenerate and then wind back the universe so it didn't really happen... not two years running... would they?

Maybe he regenerates but comes back s.. david tennant! because he's only meant to have ten incarntions or something? I rember there is canon to this effect people have muttered about from time to time..

But I would LOVE it to be a real utter surprise in a way. What an exit for RTD!

I was always under the impression it was 12 regenerations, therefore 13 versions........(going back to the TVM, where The Master was being brought back to Gallifray by The Doctor as he'd run out of generations......Eric Roberts was just a host body rather than a generation.)

Sooooo, Yes, start of the regeneration was rather unexpected - I thought that whilst he hadn't committed to the next full series, Tennant was going to do the specials next year. Had heard a good year ago that Bloody Bloody James Bloody Nesbitt was in the frame as the new Doctor - he bloody better not be! Almost anyone but him!

And here we have the reason for me shouting "BASTARDS" at my TV when they came up with the "to be continued" bit. Heh.

There were no spoilers for next week, yet!

Awesome ending. If it is a real and absolute regeneration then you're right about keeping the new actor a secret. Roll on next Saturday!

[info]cavalorn has some interesting stuff on his latest spoiler thoughts post.

Donna keeps going on about being a temp, Temp Noble = Time Lord? Along with the same heartbeat noises that the master had... Opens a load ton of fanboy worms
